The Role & Responsibilities
We are looking for an Application Support Specialist to play a pivotal part in supporting and improving the software that drives our business forward. With exciting projects on the horizon, you’ll actively contribute to enhancing our core systems while tackling a variety of challenges of a continually growing business.
Ideally, you will bring experience working on software related projects, preferably with experience of configuring, testing, and supporting the Finova Core banking software, or an equivalent banking platform.
You will need to be able to think quickly, deal with multiple problems at the same time and be confident in investigating anything from data issues to software bugs as well as hardware or software configuration issues. With some IT Services provided by 3rd party suppliers, you will work closely with our 3rd party suppliers to manage software updates and incidents.

Responsibilities
- Configuring, updating, and testing the software applications.
- Diagnosing, and resolving application issues and errors.
- Communicating with developers, vendors, and other IT staff within the wider Shawbrook group to coordinate fixes and enhancements.
- Escalating complex or urgent issues to senior members of the team.
- Documenting and reporting application performance, incidents, and feedback.
The Person
- Application Support- We’re looking for an individual who can troubleshoot and provide support through in depth analysis on any issues that might arise. This can include software bugs, data issues, and user issues.
- Configuration- You will be configuring and updating key applications as we go through a lot of changes and upgrades to our platform over the next 6-12 months,
- Testing- You will be performing testing on essential software upgrades to ensure that changes to the systems are viable for use before handing over to business teams and the UAT team.
- SQL- You will be supporting the data warehouses that are essential to our applications. You will need to be able to use SQL to query and understand data.
- 3rd Party Engagement- We work with several third party providers to manage our applications. You will need to be able to communicate and liaise with third party stakeholders to manage updates and incidents.
- Experience of working with JIRA or a project management tool would be beneficial.
- Experience of working with HALO or an equivalent incident management system would be beneficial.
- Experience in financial services or similar regulated environment would be beneficial.
